The experiences of the people we love the most will shape the way we see the world. Ron Barrett and his two closest friends from high school went to the local recruitment office fresh out of high school to sign up for Service. His friends went on to basic training, but Ron wasn't accepted. A year later, he would lose one of those friends during a training exercise. The other friend went on to become a Police Officer. His brother, Robert, had already served in Desert Storm, and now works in EMS.
Ron has always seen the ability to serve your country as an honor, one that he, unfortunately, wasn't able to experience. Now he has the opportunity to give back and recognize the people he respects through this amazing program.
